Antoon Loomans - Art Beyond Research

Ik maak koppen van dieren en mensen op papier en van karton. Ik werk met natuurlijke materialen in grove lijnen, waarbij karakter belangrijker is dan precisie. Het zijn eerder maskers dan portretten. Inspiratie en ideeën krijg ik uit de prehistorie (zoals rotstekeningen & pteroglyfen) en mythologie, de natuur zoals vogels, insecten en andere beesten. Maarrrr, af en toe ook een update op eerder werk, zoals in update 95 on Cave Bulls (in Mudpaint).

Art on the Move 2026

Summer 2026, we will move a few weeks to the valleys and mountains of Switzerland, Away from the Dutch heat, into the cool mountains of the Vallais. New inspirations, new interpretations, 'working' big time, but not big size, and most important ... off media. Last time we were there, the Tschäggättä were key inspitation for making heads, using earth mineral pigments, watercolors and Neocolor II (C d'A). Curious what type of heads, bugs or birds or ... I will excavate this time.
