I am a Dutch artist, who grew up in Lierop, Noord-Brabant, and live and work in Wageningen and part of my time in Amsterdam. Trained as a scientist, educated in entomology and ecology at Wageningen University (MSc and PhD), i am working as a full time artist for a number of years. Nature, biology, ecology and environment, forests, trees and landscapes are important themes in my scientific as well as my artistic work. I developed my art skills by slow looking in nature and at other artists, and most of all practice, practice, practice... Workshops on painting with watercolor by Jan Baas (MK24, Amsterdam), a Westerdok masterclass by Rosemin Hendriks (ateliers Westerdok, Amsterdam) helped me to finetune my skills.
