Back home, I changed my palet from the earthy colors to acrylics. A return to the principles of the colorwheel: combining different bright solid colors into a mosaic mask. This may be a head / mask with different shades of the same color, 2 , 3 or even 4 different colors, etc. Colors chosen can be either monochomatic, analogous or complementary, tiadic or tetradic on the colorwheel, but not too strict to the rule, And.... all with BIG ears, eyes, mouths and noses, outlined with a solid sturdy black mineral rim. It took about 1.5 years to let the Risoprint course (MK24) ripen, so the concept found its way into my paintwork.
Inspired by African masks, Moai statues, Papua facials, people's portraits, and mostly my own head, All on 200g drawing paper, 50 x 65 cm.
