Gnus aka Wildebeests are the most abundant big-game species in Eastern Africa. The Blue Gnu is well known for its massive annual migration to new grazing grounds, crossing wild rivers while facing sit and wait crocodiles, and grazing in big herds together with antilope and zebra. Other species, such as the Black Gnu, are more nomadic. Their expressive heads have bewildered me. Reasons to portray some head-on, making A5 charcoal sketches, and experimenting with coffee grounds and watercolors. To be continued.
